Both the Wall Street Journal and National Review wrote pieces on September 8th about ABC\u2019s two-part, $40M production, \u201cThe Path to 9\/11,\u201d which aired once and only once 20 years ago on September 10\/11, 2006, then all but disappeared.<\/p>

Why did it air only once?<\/p>\n

Democrats went all Tony Soprano on ABC, intimidating them with the fury and force of the federal government.\u00a0 (Cute little network you got there.\u00a0 Shame if something happened to it\u2026.<\/em>)\u00a0 And why did they do it?\u00a0 It made Bill Clinton look bad.\u00a0 It made members of the Clinton Administration look bad.\u00a0 Those portrayed negatively objected.\u00a0 Bill Clinton himself objected.\u00a0 Some Democrats on the Hill wrote letters to then-president of ABC Bob Iger to stop it from airing at all.<\/p>\n

Team Clinton even bullied the actors themselves.<\/p>\n

[T]he \u2018Clinton spin machine\u2019 contacted several \u2018Path to 9\/11\u2019 actors and pressured them to speak against the project.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

ABC aired it anyway, but just that once, then they never licensed it out for distribution in any way, shape, or form.\u00a0 The only way to see it now is via private citizens who recorded it and uploaded it to the internet.<\/p>\n

I found one.\u00a0 I was surprised at how little effort it took.\u00a0 I\u2019m frankly shocked it\u2019s still there, as the copy I found has been up for a year.\u00a0 (So I\u2019d watch it quickly before it\u2019s taken down.)\u00a0 It was the best copy of about a half dozen I could find.\u00a0 They all look to have been recorded via VCR, so the screen quality is, to our 2026 eyes, notably lacking, but the copy below is acceptable.<\/p>\n
