Let me tell you about Simon & Garfunkel.\u00a0They had a great run back in the 1960s and broke up after “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Paul and Art had some solo hits but not much lately.\u00a0My last Garfunkel cassette was from the early 1980’s.\u00a0Memories, yes; recent success, not much.<\/p>

So, Art has decided that he needs to make a political statement.\u00a0About what?\u00a0Well, it turns out that (shock, shock, shock) Art does not like Trump.\u00a0 In fact, he is worried about Trump\u00a0as we hear in this interview:<\/p>\n

Simon and Garfunkel singer Art Garfunkel says he is seriously considering leaving the U.S. because of the Trump presidency.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The 84-year-old singer made the remarks during an interview with The Guardian after being asked about climate change and those currently in power.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t like America\u2019s position at all,\u201d Garfunkel said.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He then went further, saying he has considered leaving the country altogether.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not aboard, and I\u2019m thinking of leaving the country, frankly,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s real that the planet is getting warmer, that the water\u2019s rising, that so many people are starving.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Garfunkel also attacked Trump over Venezuela, questioning the president\u2019s intervention in the country.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

\u201cWhen Donald Trump took over Venezuela, are those the new rules? Just take over a country and run it?\u201d Garfunkel said.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s shocking, and you think: how on earth are we gonna change the presidency?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well, Art, I’m sorry that you are so worried.\u00a0 The best way to change things is to stay home and get involved.\u00a0 Have you thought about that?<\/p>\n

We wish Art the best.\u00a0I assume that he will continue to receive his royalties and live wherever he goes.\u00a0At the same time, please forgive me for thinking that Art is\u00a0another hysterical, aging star\u2014he\u2019s 84–looking to put himself\u00a0back in the public conversation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Does anyone care what Art Garfunkel thinks about anything?\u00a0My guess is that most fans (like me) will say “good luck,” and I hope he finds whatever he\u2019s looking for.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
