Instead of students being taught that socialism and communism are great, they should be taught about how capitalism and living in the United States allowed someone like Dolly Parton to have a wonderful and successful life. Only because of capitalism did Dolly move up the economic ladder, instead of being relegated to being poor beginnings she came from. Only because of capitalism did she earn substantial wealth instead of being one more impoverished girl from the backwoods of Tennessee, dependent on the government as people in socialist and communist countries are.<\/p>

Almost all people who are rich or in the upper middle class today in the U.S were not born rich. They moved up the economic ladder because of the joys of capitalism.<\/p>\n

Dolly was born into sheer poverty, and was raised in a two-room house shared with thirteen other people. Her father was a sharecropper who was unable to read. Yet, she achieved great wealth and spread that wealth. She trickled out a lot of wealth to benefit others. Think of the multiplier effect of her keeping her money instead of the government confiscating so much more, as the Democrats want.<\/p>\n

When Dolly was born (1946), the top income tax rate was 91%, which kicked in at $200,000 (around $3.4 million today). Thank goodness for tax rate cuts from John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump.<\/p>

The Democrats solution to poverty is almost always things like the Great Society programs, which essentially encourage generational poverty and keeping people dependent on the government instead of encouraging them to get jobs and move up. They fight requirements to have mentally and physically able people to work to get benefits. They want to confiscate a greater amount from working people to keep a lot for the government, and to trickle out some to support their fictional talking points that they make things more affordable.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s just one example: The Affordable Care Act has not made healthcare more affordable. Costs to almost all of us have skyrocketed, but a small percentage of people get it for nothing because of huge government subsidies.<\/p>\n

God bless Dolly Parton and the United States of America. Thank goodness for capitalism and having a president who works very hard to allow individuals, families, and businesses to keep more of the money they earn to save, invest, and spend as they please. Freedom of choice is extremely important, and the greatest force to lift all boats.<\/p>
