Earlier this month I wrote about the ridiculous D.C. federal courts&#8217; efforts to halt construction of what has been called the \u201cTrump Ballroom.\u201d\u00a0I think it\u2019s time to call this what it really is: the renovation of the East Wing. The ballroom, the much-needed official reception space, is a significant shelter against attack and sits atop a critical national security complex.<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=5160\">In Texas, Senate Democrat candidate James Talarico opposes voter ID<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>CBS said plans include drone-proof ceilings, walls, windows, and roofs; a rooftop drone base designed for large numbers of drones (intended to help protect the broader Washington area); bullet-, ballistic-, and blast-proof glass (described as several inches thick and \u2018highly transparent,\u2019 transparency being important for windows); missile-resistant columns, roofs, and beams; hardened concrete\/steel construction claimed capable of withstanding extreme threats like nuclear blasts; titanium fencing; sniper nests; biodefense elements; and secure comms. For ballroom dancing.<\/p>\n<p>Underneath will be \u201cup to six stories\u201d of subterranean complex including bomb shelters, a high-tech hospital, research areas, enhanced ventilation filters, and \u2018top-secret military features.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Friday was the last day the stay of the district Court order halting construction (which was almost 65% completed) was in effect. That afternoon Chief Justice Roberts extended the stay \u201cpending further order of the chief Justice or the Court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The moronic press suggested that the project could still be halted &#8212; that the stay was just for now.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Childers poked fun at that reading:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This \u201cfor now\u201d framing is a mendacious rhetorical device architected to minimize the legal loss. The resistance continues! He shall never have his ballroom! (Ballroom construction is ahead of schedule.) From the Declaration of Independence until Trump 2.0, no court has ever before tried to stop a White House renovation project. No court issued a \u201cstop work\u201d order when Teddy Roosevelt built the West Wing, Truman gutted the mansion down to the studs, or FDR put up the East Wing that everyone is suddenly so fond of.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice John Roberts\u2019 terse order, [snip] said nothing like \u201cfor now\u201d or \u201ctemporary.\u201d It said, until I say so.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bill Shipley also posts that this media interpretation is nonsense.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s fully briefed, they have already voted, the outcome is known.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The opinions simply aren&#8217;t ready to go.<\/p>\n<p>If the Court was going to not reverse Judge Leon they would have let the Appeals Court stay expire, and Judge Leon&#8217;s injunction go into effect.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ask yourself, when you read the media\u2019s song and dance, how likely any court would be to tear down this costly and elaborate structure once it\u2019s built.<\/p>\n<p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-61\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/6e955d9bc12a57093aac4f2519937ec3.jpg\" width=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/6e955d9bc12a57093aac4f2519937ec3.jpg 640w, https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/6e955d9bc12a57093aac4f2519937ec3-300x141.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\nThe President is a builder, and the tidying up of a capital which had fallen into disrepair is a tribute to his construction experience and his understanding that appearance matters. Martin compares this low-risk siege of Iran with Abraham Lincoln\u2019s Anaconda Plan, which starved the Confederacy of trade and resources.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s oil terminals are empty, and the daily revenue losses are in the millions, trade is halted, factories closing, inflation mounting. Weapons and money can\u2019t reliably get in.<\/p>\n<p>The pressure is the strategy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Empire is gone and cannot return, making peace in the Mideast more likely than ever.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>America\u2019s enemies spent twenty years studying Iraq and Afghanistan, certain they could lure us into an occupation, survive until the next election, and bleed us for a generation.
