But behind that headline is the fact that, for the most part, those whom he endorsed did well and, no matter the candidate, voters clearly supported Trump\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n<p>To give you a taste of leftist gloating:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WaPo: \u201cTrump pick for Wyoming governor loses primary, adding to string of defeats.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Daily Beast: \u201cTrump Humiliated by String of Endorsement Flops in Key Races.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>MS-NOW: \u201cLawrence: Trump-endorsed primary losses show Trump might not pick the next GOP presidential nominee.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even conservative sites liked to bring Trump into the headline:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fox News: \u201cMedia executive overcomes Trump endorsement in race to succeed Byron Donalds in \u2018circus-like primary.\u2019\u201d<\/li>\n<li>New York Post: \u201cPrimary elections 2026 live updates: Byron Donalds makes no mention of Trump in victory speech after winning Florida GOP gov race.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And regarding yesterday, there is an element of truth to those reports, despite the gloating or the doom-and-gloom feeling. In high-profile, competitive races in Wyoming and Florida, four of those whom Trump endorsed won and three lost. However, the losses likely didn\u2019t signal voters rejecting Trump:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rep. Cory Mills (FL) got Trump\u2019s early endorsement, then ended up with scandal\u00a0allegations dogging him and wasn\u2019t on Trump\u2019s final list of endorsed candidates, so Ryan Elijah\u2019s win wasn\u2019t unexpected.<\/li>\n<li>Catalina Lauf (FL) only got Trump\u2019s endorsement five days before the election before losing to Jim Schwartzel.<\/li>\n<li>Megan Degenfelder (WY) was already trailing Barlow and ran an increasingly negative campaign that apparently did little to close the gap.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That reflects a strong deviation from Trump\u2019s track record in this year&#8217;s primary elections. As of July 8, Ballotpedia calculated that 97% of Trump-endorsed candidates had won their primaries. Even after subsequent losses, his 2026 primary success rate remains about 96%. Admittedly, some were sure things because they were incumbents in safe seats, but certainly not all.<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=4872\">The world\u2019s verdict on the American system \u2014 and why the DSA\u2019s vision ignores it<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, should MAGA voters despair? Is the Trump magic over? No. Not at all. As noted above, the losses yesterday were in difficult races, with difficult candidates.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, even when Trump\u2019s Midas touch failed, the winning candidates were still either MAGA candidates or candidates broadly aligned with Trump\u2019s policies. In other words, whether because of scandal (e.g., Cory Mills), disliking an endorsed candidate (Degenfelder), or something else, voters may have rejected an endorsed candidate, but they did not reject Trump\u2019s policies:<\/p>\n<p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4877\" height=\"820\" src=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1d61ab9947e1a1b5bc7b60a3982ee6a1.jpg\" width=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1d61ab9947e1a1b5bc7b60a3982ee6a1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1d61ab9947e1a1b5bc7b60a3982ee6a1-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>In other words, while those Republican voters who make the effort to vote in primaries may occasionally quarrel with a specific candidate whom Trump endorses, they strongly continue to back the Trump agenda.
