Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn’t big on the American flag.<\/p>\n

Here’s what a Democrat-operative-turned-Republican named Evan Barker wrote in her memoirs, according to The Times of London:<\/p>\n

The victory of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over a senior moderate Democrat in the primary for a New York City district in 2018 was a breakthrough for leftwingers. But Barker was already beginning to question their values. On a visit to Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s campaign office, she claims that she found \u201ca bunch of crumpled-up American flag stickers\u201d in a trash can.<\/p>\n

Her stepbrother Charles had served in the navy but died in 2017 when he was one of ten sailors killed in a collision between the USS John McCain and a merchant tanker near Singapore. \u201cAfter Charles died, I became deeply patriotic,\u201d she writes in her book. \u201cHis death changed me. It made me live more fearlessly. I hesitated less. When I decided to do something, I just did it.\u201d She claims that she rescued the flag stickers from the bin and gave them to Charles\u2019s children.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So would anyone who fought and died for the flag of this country, even if the flag was just stickers, as Barker describes. The flag means something, so to crumple up its\u00a0image is hard to read,\u00a0but so in line with anyone who doesn’t have a lick of patriotism. Is nothing sacred to AOC, situated as she is in the highest legislative office in the land?<\/p>\n

That would be the same AOC who was at the center of this controversy, showing her values, in 2019:<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON (TND) \u2014 Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said Wednesday Democrats need to launch an investigation into reports of controversial flags flying at the homes of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.<\/p>\n

Justice Alito has been facing criticism after reports surfaced last week of an upside-down American flag flying at his Virginia home in January 2021. The flag had been a symbol for those who falsely claimed the 2020 presidential election was stolen from former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

A new report from the New York Times on Thursday revealed an “Appeal to Heaven” flag, which was also flown by Jan. 6 Capitol rioters, was seen at the justice’s New Jersey vacation home in 2023.<\/p>\n

Rep.Ocasio-Cortez told MSNBC’s ChrisHayes Wednesday that Justice Alito has “identified himself” with the Capitol rioters and called the justice’s alleged political leanings a “threat to our democracy.”<\/p>\n

“Democrats have a responsibility for defending our democracy. In the Senate, we have gavels. There should be subpoenas going out,” Rep. Ocasio-Cortez. “There should be active investigations that are happening.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Really? Someone who’d have no problem crumpling up an American flag image and throwing it in the trash can goes big on prosecuting someone for flying a historic version of our flag, or flying our flag upside down as if in distress.<\/p>\n

That’s some legendary sanctimony.<\/p>\n

Don’t ever pay attention to a word this leftist\u00a0says about patriotism or the flag. Someone saw what she did to the flag in her trash can, not just throwing it away, but crumpling it up. What a flaming hypocrite.<\/p>\n
