When it comes to a fancy date night, I\u2019d rather wear a blue suit and have my wife wear a sexy red dress.<\/p>

Well, that\u2019s fashion, but this post is about prosperity, and red is better than blue.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s check this long but good one from\u00a0:<\/p>\n

\n

We see a dramatic movement towards the Red states with respect to both human and capital migration. For example, the Census Bureau tells us that there was massive net domestic human out-migration from fervently Blue California (1,691,867!!) from 2020 to 2025, as well as from other big Blue states like New York (1,106,013) and Illinois (456,378). More than 800,000 net moved into each Texas and Florida, generally considered today as Red enclaves (see Figure 2). Some of these individuals were giant innovators and investors in the American economy, people like leading financial investment guru Ken Griffin (who left Chicago for Florida), and the world\u2019s richest man, Elon Musk (who left Southern California for Texas). The possibility of California adopting a wealth tax this year on successful entrepreneurs has been reported as accelerating the exodus from the Golden State.<\/p>\n

Not only were people moving.\u00a0\u00a0Corporate headquarters moved as well.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So the long article concludes with the obvious conclusion: We want to be able to say with a high degree of certainty that \u201cother things being equal, red states have higher rates of economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s go beyond the numbers and people with Ph.D.s and look at what\u2019s going on in North Texas, or what we call The Metroplex, or all of that real estate from Dallas to Ft. Worth.<\/p>\n

We moved to Dallas back in 1984.\u00a0\u00a0The city was surrounded by a bunch of sleepy towns with lots of cows and ranches.\u00a0\u00a0Remember Dallas<\/em> on TV?\u00a0\u00a0Well, Southfork is now a place to visit, surrounded by lots of homes and office buildings.<\/p>\n

Driving up to Frisco back in \u201985 was a trip to nowhere, as we learned one Saturday when we went to a birthday party.\u00a0\u00a0We got lost twice because there was no GPS, and the Mapsco didn\u2019t go that far north.<\/p>

Today, Dallas is the name of the city, but the Major League doesn\u2019t play there, plus the hockey Stars are moving to Plano, and the Mavericks are moving to almost Addison.\u00a0\u00a0There are so many residential areas around here that you can drive forever and not see one of those cows we saw years ago.<\/p>\n

Besides people, the corporations are moving here, too.\u00a0\u00a0In fact,\u00a053 companies\u00a0moved here from lots of places.<\/p>\n

Why are they moving?\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s not the weather, because our summers are pretty bad.\u00a0\u00a0Well, I can\u2019t speak for all of them, but they tell me things like lower taxes, school vouchers, a sense of more personal freedom, and not so much government regulation on business.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure someone can write a similar post about Florida or South Carolina.\u00a0\u00a0Something is happening out there, and people are indeed benefiting from living in red states than blue states.<\/p>\n

How long is that going to continue?\u00a0\u00a0I don\u2019t know, but it would be nice if blue-state governors would recognize that their policies are driving taxpayers and job-creators away.\u00a0\u00a0Maybe this blue-to-red population tsunami will stop then.<\/p>
