How do we fix the droughts?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Before reading the following, I must ask you to forget all the global warming stuff.<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=3217\">Stupiditywatch: AOC claims the Senate was \u2018founded\u2019 on Jim Crow<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The city of Corpus Christi will run out of water before too long.*\u00a0\u00a0So will Tehran.\u00a0\u00a0So will Sao Paulo.\u00a0\u00a0So will Cape Town.\u00a0\u00a0So will Mexico City.\u00a0\u00a0So will Chennai.\u00a0\u00a0So will Bandung.\u00a0\u00a0So will Bogot\u00e1.\u00a0\u00a0So will Phoenix (which has a nuclear reactor that needs constant water).\u00a0\u00a0In China, the heat has gotten so extreme that cars have become deformed and flipflops have melted on the pavement.\u00a0\u00a0Lake Mead, one of the largest reservoirs, lost 25 feet in one month.<\/p>\n<p>That is a fact.<\/p>\n<p>And it is not just the cities.\u00a0\u00a0The same is true for the surrounding areas.\u00a0\u00a0Last year, there was little water available to fight California wildfires due to the criminal incompetence and corruption from Democrats (who have not been held accountable).<\/p>\n<p>At present, approximately 60 percent of the United States is in drought.<\/p>\n<p>And the irony is that 70 percent of the planet\u2019s surface is covered by water.<\/p>\n<p>The planet Earth appears to be going through one of its recurrent periods of drought.\u00a0\u00a0These droughts vary in intensity, range, and duration and can be found in the historical record.\u00a0\u00a0For example, a drought that lasted from 1606 to 1612 devastated the colony of Jamestown (there were no fossil fuels then).\u00a0\u00a0In 1177 B.C., an extreme drought in the\u00a0\u00a0Mediterranean area, which lasted well over a decade, resulted not only in starvation, deaths, and cannibalism, but also in mass migration, which resulted in the collapse of several hitherto flourishing Bronze Age civilizations (there were no fossil fuels then, either).\u00a0\u00a0There have been many others.<\/p>\n<p>It would be absurd not to take mitigating steps before the problem escalates, and even if it does not escalate, there are regions of the country that have always needed more water anyway.<\/p>\n<p>There is the solution of building desalination plants, which rely on an expensive process called reverse osmosis.\u00a0\u00a0These can be found in the Gulf states.\u00a0\u00a0The world\u2019s largest R.O. desalination plant is in Sorek, Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The United States has an additional, feasible solution to drought, one that has the potential to turn vast areas of the country that have otherwise always been arid (like the western areas of Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico) into fields of luxuriant vegetation year-round.<\/p>\n<p>Consider the Great Lakes, each of which has an area larger than many states.\u00a0\u00a0If \u201cdrained,\u201d the freshwater in those vast lakes could cover all of the Americas, from Canada to Argentina, up to five feet of water.\u00a0\u00a0More importantly, it is constantly renewable.<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=3215\">Satire: President Trump\u2019s election integrity and national security address shunned by mainstream media outlets<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A system of canals, similar to the oil pipelines, could continually channel water throughout the Midwest and the South, directly into aquifers, lakes, reservoirs, and water distribution centers.\u00a0\u00a0Such canalization has been done before, albeit on a relatively smaller scale in the Sumerian and Angkor Wat civilization, using primitive handheld tools, with superb results.\u00a0\u00a0Someone with the engineering skills of an Elon Musk could undertake that task.\u00a0\u00a0Revenue would come from states and companies that most need the water, of course.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, if Democrats were to get involved, as with the California\u2019s Train to Nowhere, the entire country would become a desert before the canals became a reality.<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, liberals would strongly oppose this system of canals, since completion of the project would benefit America and Americans, the targets of liberals\u2019 undying hatred.\u00a0\u00a0So canals harm the environment, canals are racist, and canals are misogynistic because they are too phallic (don\u2019t laugh \u2014 equally psychotic statements have been made by liberals in the past couple of decades).\u00a0\u00a0There will also be calls that the money would be better spent elsewhere, like transgender genital mutilation for illegal aliens, or for circumcisions for the people of Zimbabwe and Mongolia, or \u201creparations\u201d for being black.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, they may welcome the state of affairs in order to introduce extreme social control, as was the case during the COVID fiasco.
