The Synchronized Virtue Signal.<\/p>\n

The Marathon Social Media Meltdown.<\/p>\n

The Mixed Doubles Cancel Relay.<\/p>\n

And my personal favorite, the Freestyle Assumption Event, where contestants hear one sentence, assume the other 999 words, and declare victory before the conversation even starts.<\/p>\n

As a black conservative, I\u2019ve accidentally become an event official.<\/p>\n

Apparently, my job isn\u2019t to have opinions. My job is to confirm someone else\u2019s expectations. The moment I don\u2019t, the judges blow the whistle.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re not really black.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve been brainwashed.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re a sellout.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s amazing how quickly the people preaching diversity suddenly become remarkably uniform in what they expect me to think.<\/p>\n

I thought diversity included ideas, but perhaps I misunderstood the brochure.<\/p>\n

The outrage economy doesn\u2019t reward curiosity. It rewards certainty. The faster you can be offended, the more points you score. Asking questions is too slow. Context is a disqualifying penalty. Nuance is grounds for immediate elimination.<\/p>\n

Social media has become the official stadium for these games. Every morning, contestants stretch their ideological muscles, hoping someone, somewhere, says something they can interpret in the least charitable way possible\u2014extra points are awarded if the original statement wasn\u2019t actually controversial\u2026bonus points if it wasn\u2019t even what the person meant\u2026and championship points if an apology is demanded before lunch!<\/p>

The funny part is that ordinary Americans aren\u2019t playing this game.<\/p>\n

Most people are trying to get to work, raise their kids, pay their mortgage, attend church, coach Little League, and maybe enjoy a quiet weekend without discovering they\u2019re today\u2019s designated villain because of an opinion they posted three years ago.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve got better things to do than compete in the Outrage Olympics.<\/p>\n

As someone who\u2019s worked in nonprofit leadership and men\u2019s advocacy, I\u2019ve learned that real problems rarely announce themselves with hashtags. They show up as broken families, addiction, loneliness, fatherlessness, untreated mental illness, and neighborhoods desperate for opportunity\u2014and those problems don\u2019t care how many likes your indignation receives.<\/p>\n

They require something outrage can never produce: people willing to build instead of perform.<\/p>\n

Maybe that\u2019s why I\u2019ve never been particularly impressed by the loudest voices in the room. Volume isn\u2019t wisdom. Anger isn\u2019t leadership. Going viral isn\u2019t the same thing as making a difference.<\/p>\n

The strongest people I\u2019ve met weren\u2019t professional activists.<\/p>\n

They were builders.<\/p>\n

They solved problems instead of collecting grievances.<\/p>\n

Perhaps it\u2019s time we retire the Professional Outrage Olympics.<\/p>\n

America already has enough spectators.<\/p>\n

What it needs now are more competitors in a different event entirely\u2014the quiet, often thankless work of building stronger families, healthier communities, and a country worth handing to the next generation.<\/p>
