Secretary Rubio is on target with this:<\/p>\n

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday issued a new broadside in the U.S. fight with the International Criminal Court (ICC), announcing a diplomatic effort by the Trump administration to dismantle the global tribunal.<\/p>\n

Rubio issued the action call in an opinion article in The Wall Street Journal and a video message shared on social media.<\/p>\n

His announcement comes after three of the court\u2019s judges filed a lawsuit in New York last month against the Trump administration. The lawsuit argues sanctions levied against them are unlawful.<\/p>\n

\u2018The U.S. is launching a diplomatic campaign with a simple message \u2014 sovereign states over globalism,\u2019 Rubio wrote in his op-ed.<\/p>\n

\u2018Using all the tools at our government\u2019s disposal, working beside every ally with whom we can make common cause, we will dismantle the ICC \u2014 brick by brick, if necessary.\u2019<\/p>\n

A State Department official told Reuters the diplomatic tools include travel bans, visa revocations, increased sanctions against the ICC and affiliated organizations, and diplomatic pressure on other nations to withdraw from the ICC.<\/p>

The ICC was established in 2002 to prosecute genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. There are 125 countries that have signed and ratified the Rome Statute, the agreement that established the court.<\/p>\n

Rubio in his video message accused the ICC of being \u2018a global tribunal staffed by unelected globalist bureaucrats who claim their power is almost unlimited.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The late Senator Graham left us this gem about the ICC:<\/p>\n

\u2018To any ally\u2014Canada, Britain, Germany, France\u2014if you try to help the ICC, we\u2019re going to sanction you. We should crush your economy\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Trump administration is also directing a message to the new so-called Democratic Socialists.\u00a0 They\u2019ve made an issue of enforcing an arrest of PM Netanyahu, and apparently are strong supporters of these lawless international courts.\u00a0 Maybe these candidates should explain how an overseas-organization can indict the president of the U.S. over Iraq, Afghanistan, or now over Iran?\u00a0 Did they ever support indicting Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden?\u00a0 No.<\/p>\n

Like the UN, the ICC may have been a good idea to address legal matters.\u00a0 However, just like the UN, it has turned into a refuge for anti-American sentiments and leftists who want to use courts to overturn our national sovereignty, and go after Israel.<\/p>\n
