Greenidge is what The New York Times calls a \u201cdecorated historian,\u201d which really tells you all you need to know: she\u2019s a DEI hire with a flair for revisionism and anti-Americanism. She\u2019s also apparently very comfortable with taking creative license when it comes time to the historical record, and her profession.<\/p>

In 2022, Liveright published a book by Greenidge titled, \u201cThe Grimkes: The Legacy of Slavery in an American Family,\u201d which won a number of awards, and really catapulted Greenidge into the DEI stratosphere. (The book was on the NYT Book Review list as a top-100 notable book of the year; it won the Joan Kelly Memorial Prize, awarded by the American Historical Association; it was shortlisted for the Ralph Waldo Emerson Award; and it received accolades from Oprah, the Smithsonian, NPR, and the Boston Globe<\/em>.)<\/p>\n

But now, The Grimkes<\/em> is \u201cunder scrutiny by scholars for questionable assertions and sloppy sourcing.\u201d And sure, as Greenidge said, there \u201cprobably\u201d are a number of citations that were \u201cmisattributed\u201d in the book, but this is nothing more than a vile and racist attack, because the real problem is that she\u2019s a black woman; as Greenidge said, \u201cThe attack on Black women academics is real.\u201d I\u2019m going to take a stab at this and say that the issue of credibility is arising because she\u2019s not<\/em> actually an academic, at least in practice. She\u2019s an AINO, Academic In Name Only. (I may not have a Ph.D myself, but even I know how to cite my sources.)<\/p>\n

Myra Glenn, a retired history professor, seemed to be the one to blow Greenidge\u2019s cover, calling the research in the book \u201cdeeply flawed\u201d and lacking the \u201cevidence to substantiate many of her [Greenidge\u2019s] major claims.\u201d Glenn also stated that Greenidge\u2019s work is \u201criddled with factual errors and repeatedly omits needed endnotes.\u201d (That must be why we got the \u201cmisattribution\u201d admission from Greenidge.)<\/p>\n

The New York Post reported that Liveright removed Greenidge\u2019s author page from their website, the AHA took down her Joan Kelly recognition, and \u201cshe seems to have lost her job as a tenured associate professor\u201d at Tufts University. Greenidge apparently doesn\u2019t have any sense of self-preservation though, and instead of quietly receding from the public eye under the shame of academic dishonesty, she\u2019s getting louder, claiming it\u2019s all just \u201canti-black sentiment.\u201d (Girl, you\u2019re not doing yourself any favors.)<\/p>

She accused two senior historians on the university\u2019s peer review panel of being \u2018hostile toward black women in academia,\u2019 and argued the review process by the school was kicked off by complaints from a white woman scholar.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I can\u2019t verify anything about a \u201cwhite woman scholar,\u201d but Myra Glenn, the academic who accused Greenidge as far back as 2024, is black herself<\/em>. And she doesn\u2019t even appear to be a conservative type black, so the political animus motive is now off the table\u2014Glenn was a professor in some sort of women\u2019s history, and wrote a book that, as far as I can tell, is politically progressive.<\/p>\n

I recently heard someone discussing the pathology present in the black population, one that\u2019s been fostered by Democrats\u2014perpetual victims of rAcIsM. When will these people realize they\u2019re just participating in a humiliation ritual?<\/p>
