It\u2019s refreshing, and a realistic message from a man who\u2019s performed before, thousands of times.\u00a0 Let\u2019s check it out:<\/p>\n

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger says concertgoers want to escape from politics and everyday worries rather than sit through political speeches.<\/p>\n

Jagger made the remarks during an interview on The New York Times podcast after being asked about Bruce Springsteen, who has repeatedly used his current tour to lambast President Trump.<\/p>\n

Host David Marchese noted that Springsteen \u2018clearly sees his job as engaging in a meaningful back and forth\u2019 with audiences before asking Jagger what his own relationship with fans means to him.<\/p>\n

Jagger said his priority is giving audiences a break from the outside world.<\/p>\n

\u2018The bottom line of my thing really is that my job in the live music world is [for] those people that come is to [sic] have the best time they possibly can,\u2019 Jagger said.<\/p>

\u2018For two hours or whatever it is, to forget all their problems and the problems of the world and their mortgages and whatever, just to give them the best time they can have.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Forget their problems?\u00a0 Yes, that\u2019s true; fans don\u2019t spend a lot of money to hear someone \u201cvirtue signal,\u201d or whatever they call it.\u00a0 In my case, I want politics out of musical concerts and sports.\u00a0 Furthermore, I paid for a ticket to hear you sing, not hear your political views.\u00a0 Who cares what Mick Jagger or Bruce Springsteen have to say anyway?<\/p>\n

Another big problem is going overseas and taking a shot at the American president.\u00a0 Remember the (former) Dixie Chicks, who took a shot at President Bush in London over Iraq?\u00a0 It didn\u2019t work out well, especially in the country music world.<\/p>\n

Last, but not least, the real problem with many of these artists is that they can\u2019t control themselves.\u00a0 They feel like you need to know their valuable opinion, then they can\u2019t handle the reaction when fans say that they don\u2019t care about their opinions.\u00a0 Again, the Dixie Chicks.<\/p>
