Welcome to eye-tracking cameras. These ADDW systems are required to monitor <em>where the driver is looking at all times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>According to official EU documents, \u201cThe presence of the driver\u2019s gaze shall be monitored by the ADDW system in the areas of interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Areas of interest? To whom?<\/p>\n<p>The new rules define \u201cdistraction\u201d areas as: the driver\u2019s lap, the center console, and behind the driver\u2019s seat, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=2781\">Another Wisconsin judge trashes the rule of law<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Republicans recently argued against\u00a0similar technology being made mandatory in the U.S., including both passive and active monitoring tools, some of which can be powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Some officials have been lobbying for these infrared cameras that track a driver\u2019s eye movements and pupil dilation, and also for \u201ccockpit-embedded sensors\u201d that would estimate a driver\u2019s blood alcohol levels via that person\u2019s breath or skin contact.<\/p>\n<p>What could go wrong?<\/p>\n<p>EU official:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Where are your eyes looking? Hey, over here! Back on the glass directly in front of you! Your hand has been in your lap for 45 seconds now, what\u2019s up with that? Whoa, what\u2019s going on in the back seat! And what are you drinking?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Like COVID-19 lockdowns and gun control measures, this is not about safety. It is not about where the drivers\u2019 eyes are looking. It is about the government\u2019s eyes on the drivers. You and I. As with Flock cameras, imbedded chips, digital currency, etc., etc. How does it feel knowing Big Brother is focused on<em> you<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>We have already gone way too far down a road that ought not have been travelled.<\/p>\n<p>The authorities have every moment of that trip on film.
