{"id":2453,"date":"2026-07-04T19:08:03","date_gmt":"2026-07-04T19:08:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=2453"},"modified":"2026-07-04T19:08:03","modified_gmt":"2026-07-04T19:08:03","slug":"the-25-declarations-in-the-declaration-of-independence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=2453","title":{"rendered":"The 25 declarations in the Declaration of Independence"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>While it\u2019s questionable how many younger Americans have been exposed to the Declaration of Independence, signed 250 years ago, on July 4, 1776, most Americans probably know the famous preface:<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=2451\">America used to handle mass immigration using patriotic education<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature&#8217;s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.<\/p>\n<p>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.-<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>What fewer people know is that the remainder of the document rests on core principles about the human condition, man\u2019s relationship to God, and government and man\u2019s relationship to each other.<\/p>\n<p>My studies of the Declaration of Independence have allowed me to distill 25 of the principles that undergird our nation. Thus, the Declaration of Independence declares:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There is a higher law to appeal to\u2014The Laws of Nature and Nature\u2019s God<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There is a higher Power to appeal to\u2014Nature\u2019s God<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There is a universal truth<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 These truths are self-evident<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Truth 1: Man is valuable because God created him<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Truth 2: All men are equal in their standing before God<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Truth 3: God endows man with rights<\/p>\n<p>8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Truth 4: Rights do not come from government<\/p>\n<p>9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Truth 5: Because the rights come from God, the government cannot revoke them<\/p>\n<p>10.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Truth 6: The primary rights are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness [a happiness understood to flow from virtue, not transient pleasures of the flesh]<\/p>\n<p>11.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The purpose of government is to secure these rights<\/p>\n<p>12.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The government\u2019s authority comes from God\u2014\u201cjust\u201d powers\u2014and from the people [the people give consent to be governed]<\/p>\n<p>13.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The government is accountable to God and the people<\/p>\n<p>14.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A government is illegitimate when it becomes destructive to these ends [truths]<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/interstatelogisticshubs.com\/?p=2448\">The 1619 Project\u2019s Nikole Hannah-Jones: America\u2019s very existence is a \u2018crime\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>15.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The people have the right to alter or abolish the government<\/p>\n<p>16.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Change should not be made for trivial reasons<\/p>\n<p>17.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When the government usurps the people\u2019s rights over a long period of time, that fact demands change.<\/p>\n<p>18.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tyranny is the steady quest to have greater and greater power over people<\/p>\n<p>19.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It is the people\u2019s duty to act for future generations<\/p>\n<p>20.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God is the Supreme Judge<\/p>\n<p>21.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God is the one who knows men\u2019s hearts and can judge their motives and actions.<\/p>\n<p>22.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God holds people and rulers accountable<\/p>\n<p>23.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God will be relied on for protection<\/p>\n<p>24.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Founders would commit their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to these principles [words]<\/p>\n<p>25.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And, by signing the Declaration, they did, in fact, commit their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor [deeds]<\/p>\n<p>No other form of government has ever been founded on these principles.
