Let me say upfront that I am not into watching the WNBA, or women\u2019s sports in general.\u00a0 It\u2019s what happens when you grow up playing catch with your brother, and your little sister was more interested in Mary Poppins and Miss Universe than girls playing sports.\u00a0 Furthermore, having three sons also meant that my interest was in watching the Dallas Cowboys rather than the Dallas Wings of the WNBA.\u00a0 I respect the ladies\u2019 skills, but that\u2019s it.<\/p>

A couple years ago, one of my sons mentioned that a certain player, Caitlin Clark, was quite a basketball player.\u00a0 I watched her college game and agreed that the young woman had skills and could impact the league.\u00a0 I told my son that it reminded me of Lew Alcindor getting drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks years ago and how that changed that franchise.<\/p>\n

And then Caitlin goes to the WNBA, and all hell breaks loose.\u00a0 Check this video when a player goes after her!<\/p>\n

Even Sophie Cunningham calling it out. League refuses to protect the golden goose bringing eyes and money. Front office silent.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I don\u2019t know if the league is populated by angry lesbians.\u00a0 My take is that they are populated by a lot of stupid people who can\u2019t appreciate who is filling the seats or getting young women to turn the TV on.\u00a0 In other words, who in the world ever heard of the WNBA before Caitlin joined them?<\/p>\n

So here is a bit of advice to whoever runs the league.\u00a0 A foul is part of the game, but we are not seeing that.\u00a0 What I\u2019ve seen on TV clips are players who want to hurt Caitlin.\u00a0 I am also seeing a lot of young women crossing the line and turning the game into battery.\u00a0 Maybe I am an old-fashioned man, but watching girls get this violent is not what I enjoy about sports.<\/p>\n

So the WNBA better protect Caitlin, or they will become more insignificant than they already are.<\/p>
