It is sadly remarkable the number of \u201cjournalists\u201d and Democrats who do not understand the founding principles of the nation they purportedly \u201cserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

The examples are legion.<\/p>\n

Recently, MS Now host Katy Tur not only mixed up the founding documents, but seemed dumbfounded at the idea that all men derive their rights from God.<\/p>\n

Yet,\u00a0this is the irreplaceable idea, the principle that separated the United States from all other nations that came before. This concept should be obvious, but, tragically is not.<\/p>\n

Tur noted that House Speaker Mike Johnson recently prayed at an event in Washington, stating: \u201cOur rights do not derive from the government; they come from you, our Creator and Heavenly Father.\u201d<\/p>\n

So the vapid talking head asked, \u201cIs this him putting God over the Declaration of Independence?\u201d<\/p>\n

Um, Ms. Tur, it was in<\/em> the Declaration of Independence that the Founders clearly stated that our rights come from God.<\/p>\n

I have written about this for more than a decade, because it is the key to everything. No matter what anyone else thinks, if this notion isn\u2019t true, than nothing really matters. If an individual\u2019s\u2014or even group\u2019s \u2014 rights don\u2019t come from God the Creator, then you, I, and everyone else don\u2019t have any. If rights come from other men, whether that be individuals, groups, or government entities, if that person or those people determine you don\u2019t have any \u2026 then you don\u2019t. If the Third Reich says Jews have no rights and should all be baked in ovens, that is what they decided and it can\u2019t be wrong \u2026 by definition \u2014 if rights are granted \u2014 or not \u2014 by other people and not by God.<\/p>\n

If Bob, or the legislature, decides that Capricorns should be imprisoned and that Libras should be denied free speech, freedom of religion, and the right to gather, well, that\u2019s just the way it is. They have decreed it so.<\/p>\n

If a political party decides that, say, white people should not be allowed to own firearms, then white people should not be allowed to own firearms. Period. It is what it is if there is no higher or more legitimate authority, right?<\/p>\n

Consider that, for more than a century and a half, Democrats fervently denied that black people should have the same rights as white folks. So they enslaved them and put them on plantations. To this day Democrats desperately try to put blacks on mental, moral, and political plantations, chaining them to welfare, victimhood, and entitlement while attempting to earn their votes by telling them they \u201ccare.\u201d Monstrous. Vile.<\/p>\n

If other people somehow have the right to determine your rights, you have no rights<\/em>. If you and I had the right to determine what rights others have or don\u2019t have, that would not be a good thing, either, because they <\/em>would have no inherent rights. And we<\/em> would be playing God.<\/p>\n

The American Founders recognized that every human being is born with certain unalienable rights. And, just as importantly, that legitimate governments are instituted among men to<\/em> protect <\/em>those rights<\/em>, not grant or deny them. This is why they were so leery of pure democracy. They didn\u2019t believe it was just for 51% of the voters to have the power to do whatever they wanted to the other 49%.<\/p>\n

And it is also the reason that Democrats and other big government types are so disdainful of America, the Founders, the rule of law, and Christianity. They believe they should determine all, and they can\u2019t countenance competition. No one hates the idea that our rights are derived from our Creator more than actual \u2014 or would-be \u2014 tyrants and totalitarians. Like, for example, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and the Democrat party.<\/p>\n

If a nation or society doesn\u2019t believe there are unalienable rights granted unto us by our Creator \u2026 than nothing can be wrong \u2026 and evil doesn\u2019t exist. And that nation won\u2019t long exist, either.<\/p>\n
