For years we have suffered the lies and perversions of transgender \u201cmedicine.\u201d The main proponent of this detestable field is WPATH, and they do it with no apologies. Yet, the Federal Trade Commission under President Trump, just filed a lawsuit to undermine WPATH and its operations, joining forces with a number of states. The FTC lawsuit describes the abhorrent positions of this organization and its efforts to cash in, figuratively and literally, on the fears of children and parents.<\/p>

First of all, what is WPATH?<\/p>\n

WPATH, an association of clinicians who profit from pediatric medical transition services, recommended medical interventions, including drugs and surgery, for children and adolescents who expressed dissatisfaction with or distress about their sex traits.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As noted above, several states have joined the lawsuit: Alaska, Iowa, Nebraska and Texas, represented by their attorneys general. Here is what Nebraska\u2019s AG Mike Hilgers had to say:<\/p>\n

\u2018WPATH has long represented itself as the final authority for the gender-related treatment of children, advancing profit-driven ideology unsupported by science and withholding crucial information from children, parents and doctors. We\u2019re proud to work with the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general to hold WPATH accountable for deceiving parents and medical professionals and causing harm to children in Nebraska and nationwide.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

WPATH\u2019s abuses and distortions are . They have allegedly misled parents to believe that if their children don\u2019t pursue the transgender procedures, which include hormone therapy and surgery, their children are likely to commit suicide. They also stand accused of failing to explain all the of these procedures:<\/p>\n

The side effects of puberty blockers include hot flashes, lethargy, and cognitive problems. The side effects of cross-sex hormones include mood disturbances, vocal pain, pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, clitoral discomfort, vaginal pain, persistent sexual dysfunction continuing after cessation of use, and erectile pain. The side effects of breast amputations include inability to breastfeed, nerve damage, and necrosis of the nipples.<\/p>

In spite of the protests from many in the medical profession and other state and government agencies, WPATH persisted in pursuing their agenda. Why? Money<\/em>. These efforts are a massive profit-making campaign for WPATH, medical doctors, medical supply companies, and everyone affiliated with pursuing these interventions and procedures.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how WPATH benefits financially from their position:<\/p>\n

The group has an economic interest in pediatric gender transitions, as it advocates expanding insurance coverage to pay for them, \u2018promotes the purchase of its members\u2019 pediatric medical transition services\u2019 and financially benefits \u2018by leveraging its position as the de facto authority on transition medicine in the United States,\u2019 the suit says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

WPATH rejected the FTC\u2019s position, and suggestively accused them of a political agenda. Here, in part, is their statement:<\/p>\n

In previously ruling against the FTC, a federal district court has already found WPATH is in a strong position to prove that the FTC is acting out of pure retaliation as part of the federal government’s relentless and targeted campaign to undermine gender-affirming care by attacking the First Amendment rights and the independence of professional medical organizations. We expect the same result when we oppose this latest attack on WPATH and its mission to promote evidence-informed care and guidance for doctors and their patients. For more than 50 years, WPATH has been committed to developing guidelines informed by established scientific standards, expert consensus, and patient centered values. WPATH supports individualized patient care, not a \u2018one size fits all\u2019 approach. Transgender and gender-diverse patients deserve the highest level of care from their medical professionals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Parents and children have suffered too long from these violations of the human body perpetrated by practitioners. We\u2019re supposed to be able to trust the medical profession and its representatives to care for us, advise us wisely, and provide us with honest and life-affirming treatments.<\/p>
