\u2018This is very much like watching the Berlin Wall coming down,\u2019 Acosta said in a strange comparison made around 3:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

\u2018It is a sign that mankind, that humankind can stand up against tyranny,\u2019 he continued. \u2018As long as it took, we pledged to continue to have this coverage going, and by golly, we did, because we knew how much this meant to a lot of people out there, and we know how important this was.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Acosta was talking about removing the name \u201cTrump\u201d from the Kennedy Center.\u00a0 As you may remember, they added the name Trump and then removed it by a court order.<\/p>\n

To be fair, reasonable people can disagree on the wisdom of adding the Trump name.\u00a0 I found it a bit confusing, because the Kennedy Center has been around for a while, and adding or changing a name was always going to be controversial.\u00a0 It would have been better to upgrade the center and give President Trump credit and leave it at that.\u00a0 No need to change the name and give the other side a free shot at making an issue out of it.<\/p>

More insane though was Acosta\u2019s reaction.\u00a0 He drew a comparison to the Berlin Wall, or that symbol of repression that came down in 1989.<\/p>\n

Acosta is desperately seeking attention, but he may have gone too far this time.\u00a0 Anyone familiar with history, or what that wall was really about, must be wondering what Jim Acosta is smoking these days.<\/p>\n

The bad news is that Trump Derangement Syndrome will bring out the silliest in some people.\u00a0 The good news is that Acosta\u2019s remarks were met with mockery, and less people will be hanging around for his next episode.<\/p>
