I keep waiting for a reporter to ask one of them, \u201cWhat exactly is a Nazi?\u00a0\u00a0What are their defining characteristics?\u00a0\u00a0What has President Trump done that qualifies him as one?\u201d<\/p>\n

My guess is that they would say something like, \u201cYou know good and well what a Nazi is!\u201d or, \u201cIf I have to explain it to you, you\u2019ll never understand.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Like all radical liberals in the public eye, they\u2019ve gotten by for years saying anything they want without being held accountable.\u00a0\u00a0They call the president names because they hear like-minded crazies do it and it sounds relevant.\u00a0\u00a0They actually have no idea what a Nazi is.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This knowledge deficit is not entirely their fault. They probably went to schools where no one taught them about Nazism or Fascism or D-Day or anything else to do with World War II (known in some quarters as World War Eleven).\u00a0\u00a0This is consistent with the rest of their education.\u00a0\u00a0They can\u2019t do simple arithmetic.\u00a0\u00a0They can\u2019t find France on a world map.\u00a0\u00a0They can\u2019t name their own state capital.\u00a0\u00a0They\u2019ve never heard of John Jay or Nathaniel Hawthorne.\u00a0\u00a0What they\u2019re taught while sitting in a classroom for twelve years is amystery.<\/p>\n

And so, a brief tutorial.<\/p>\n

The first characteristic of Nazism is an overwhelming sense of shame and cultural oppression.\u00a0\u00a0The Nazi Party came into existence as a reaction to the Treaty of Versailles, which ended World War I and imposed crippling sanctions on Germany for its role as the aggressor.<\/p>\n

Does Trump feel ashamed and oppressed?\u00a0\u00a0No evidence presents itself.\u00a0\u00a0On the contrary, he\u2019s probably the least ashamed and oppressed person on the planet.<\/p>\n

The most notorious characteristic of Nazism is rabid antisemitism.\u00a0\u00a0This was a bedrock principle of the movement, blaming Jews for all the perceived problems in German society and infamously murdering six million of them.<\/p>\n

Does Trump despise Jews?\u00a0\u00a0His son-in-law is a Jew.\u00a0\u00a0He has built stronger bridges with Israel and done more for the Jewish state than any president in American history.\u00a0\u00a0However, plenty of Democrat lawmakers have publicly proclaimed their disdain for Israel and their support of its enemies by promoting Palestine, for example, or wearing an actual Nazi tattoo.\u00a0\u00a0When will somebody call them Nazis?<\/p>

Next, Nazis are anti-democratic.\u00a0\u00a0They crushed the democratic system in Germany, killed its defenders, and instituted one-party rule.\u00a0\u00a0Even the most casual look at America today shows we have a robust democracy.\u00a0\u00a0Strong and outspoken as he is, President Trump is held in check every day by Congress, the Supreme Court, and hundreds of lawsuits filed against the administration nationwide.\u00a0\u00a0If he were Hitler, he would simply declare all these institutions closed, eliminate his detractors, and take over the country.\u00a0\u00a0He has shown no signs of doing that.\u00a0\u00a0However, Democrats want to pack the Supreme Court, end the filibuster, undermine voter integrity and honesty in elections, make Puerto Rico the 51st state, and otherwise undermine the basic institutions of democracy \u2014 because when they can\u2019t win fair and square, they throw out the rules.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Next, Nazis are anti-intellectual.\u00a0\u00a0Dumb people are easier to lead.\u00a0\u00a0Trump surrounds himself with smart, capable, proven colleagues and attracts followers of every education and station.\u00a0\u00a0On the other hand, Democrats, many of them evidently paid, flood the streets in front of federal detention centers and lie down in front of cars, protesting the incarceration of murderers and other felons who otherwise would be running loose in the neighborhood holding up the local bodega.\u00a0\u00a0That is dumb.<\/p>\n

None of the other slurs against the president holds water, either.\u00a0\u00a0Is Trump a racist?\u00a0\u00a0On the contrary, he has been dismantling decades of institutional racism while liberals desperately hold on to their identity politics and race-baiting habits.\u00a0\u00a0Should there be a Congressional White Caucus?\u00a0\u00a0An NAAWP?\u00a0\u00a0No, there shouldn\u2019t.\u00a0\u00a0Neither should there be divisive organizations of any kind in our government or society.<\/p>\n

Does Trump hate immigrants?\u00a0\u00a0His mother was an immigrant.\u00a0\u00a0The First Lady is an immigrant.\u00a0\u00a0Trump-affiliated businesses have given tens of thousands of jobs to immigrants.\u00a0\u00a0Does he think lawbreakers should face consequences regardless of their immigrant status?\u00a0\u00a0Of course.\u00a0\u00a0Upholding the law is his job.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

We could go on.\u00a0\u00a0Fascist?\u00a0\u00a0Dictator?\u00a0\u00a0Look at the definitions, then look at the president and his track record.<\/p>\n

Donald Trump is a fearless patriot who has done more to restore American institutions and rebuild American strength and prosperity than any president in generations.\u00a0\u00a0He deserves our thanks and our support, not ignorant name-calling.<\/p>\n
