That never came to pass, and Obama apologists whined that The Lightbringer was only talking about the sum of the enforcement arms of the Federal Government. He plainly wasn\u2019t, but if they were correct, that goal reached fruition during Obama\u2019s third term: Biden\u2019s Handler\u2019s Administration. Their \u201cwhole of government\u201d approach to weaponization against Normal Americans\u2014largely but not exclusively Republicans\u2014was the closest thing Democrats have been able to manage.<\/p>\n

What Obama, and other Democrats mean is that to impose \u201cour Democracy,\u201d a tyranny of the majority,\u00a0on our constitutional republic, will require an actual army, as well as disarmament of citizens. They know they won\u2019t be able to rely on our military and federal law enforcement to oppress and kill their fellow Americans. Certainly, the COVID oppression revealed some of them will, but not enough. It\u2019s an ongoing project for them, one taken up by the Democratic Socialists\u2014there\u2019s a misnomer\u2014of America:<\/p>\n

As its national influence has risen, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) has simultaneously\u00a0grown\u00a0more extreme. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the group\u2019s \u201cRed Rabbits\u201d initiative. The Red Rabbits Security Commission, a subgroup within the DSA focused on \u201ccommunity defense\u201d efforts, is, according to its authorizing resolution, preparing for a \u201cnational uprising against federal agents and police brutality.\u201d In practice, that means training cadres in tactics like armed and unarmed self-defense, blocking intersections, and fighting \u201cfascists\u201d with umbrellas.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cRed Rabbits?\u201d The \u201cred\u201d\u2014as in communists and Mao\u2019s Red Guard\u2014is no coincidence. They\u2019re thugs, enforcers, the armed vanguard of the coming revolution, the new embodiment of Obama\u2019s \u201ccivilian national security force.\u201d The One must be so proud. The article notes they\u2019re worried about IRS scrutiny because they could lose their tax-exempt status and that of their funding sources. They ought to be worried about DOJ scrutiny too.<\/p>\n

The Red Rabbits\u00a0claim\u00a0that their focus is on five core security skills: de-escalation, Stop the Bleed (a first aid training on bleeding control), firearm safety, unarmed self-defense, and protest marshalling (crowd management during demonstrations). The commission has set a goal of having at least five members in\u00a040 percent\u00a0of DSA chapters complete these trainings.\u00a0[skip]<\/p>\n

During the event [a meeting of the DSA\u2019s central political committee], local chapters\u00a0described\u00a0a range of security preparations broader than that envisioned by the national commission. These included martial-arts sparring, evacuation planning, wound-packing, radio communications, the use of umbrellas and signs to shield participants from and block \u201cfascists,\u201d and even chemical-exposure training, in which participants practiced being pepper-sprayed.<\/p>

As one might imagine, there\u2019s a \u201cqueer\u201d element to this militancy:<\/p>\n

\n

Some chapters already conduct in-house trainings or are working to expand them, such as the Philadelphia chapter\u2019s\u00a0plan\u00a0to develop what one member called \u201csick\u201d firearm-safety trainings. The DSA\u2019s Oklahoma City Queer Fight Club has evidently become a\u00a0local training hub, teaching self-defense and broader \u201ccommunity defense\u201d skills. Portland DSA has organized trainings on blocking intersections with bicycles, a practice\u00a0known as\u00a0\u201ccorking.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

These Red Rabbits are some of the people we\u2019re seeing at violent, anti-immigration enforcement street insurrections across the country. We\u2019re steadily discovering more about their funding, both internal and foreign, and their connections to hostile foreign regimes.\u00a0\u00a0These are not spontaneous, local, grassroots \u201cprotests,\u201d but nationally coordinated, directed, and financed attacks against legitimate authority designed to destabilize America and replace our constitutional, representative republic with a totalitarian communist dictatorship.<\/p>\n

\n

As a 501(c)(4), the DSA must,\u00a0according to\u00a0the IRS, \u201coperate primarily to further the common good and general welfare of the people of the community.\u201d Some Red Rabbits activities, like know-your-rights education and de-escalation training, probably meet that threshold. But it\u2019s hard to argue that a street-level security force geared toward disruption, confrontation, and resistance to law enforcement exists primarily to \u201cfurther the common good.\u201d Tactics such as blocking traffic with bicycles, training activists to\u00a0escape physical holds, forming umbrella phalanxes to confront \u201cfascists,\u201d and\u00a0conducting\u00a0\u201ctakedowns on intersections\u201d bear little resemblance to traditional social-welfare activities. Instead, they suggest preparation for a broader \u201cnational uprising\u201d\u2014one of the organization\u2019s stated directives.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Apparently, while the Red Rabbits are engaging in some firearm training, they are not as yet employing guns\u00a0in substantial numbers in their insurrections. That\u2019s a temporary, strategic matter. No communist revolution has long been so restrained. As Mao said: \u201cPolitical power grows out of the barrel of a gun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barack Obama knows that, and so do the Red Rabbits.<\/p>\n
